Gitanjali ist eine Sammlung von einhundertdrei Gedichten des bengalischen Dichters, Malers und Philosophen Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941). Die mystisch gestimmten Strophen zeugen von tiefer Spiritualität, Trauer über die eigene Unvollkommenheit, Sehnsucht und die Liebe zur Natur. Mit der englischen Übersetzung von Gitanjali („Song offerings“) gewann Tagore 1913 als erster Nicht-Europäer den Nobelpreis für Literatur.
